Our local rivers and streams are great places for both humans and fish. We humans need water to drink, stay clean and play in. Fish that live in those rivers and streams need clean water to survive. To be sure that the water is still safe for us and the fish, it's important to keep gross stuff out of the water.
Sometimes, we make the water dirty by letting soap and other harmful things go from our houses to the rivers and streams through something called storm water. Storm water is the water that goes down the storm drains that you see in the street, outside your home.
